Anti-Corruption Training

A delegation from the Foundation visited Oman to conduct training for the judiciary on methods and techniques used in the UK to combat corruption.

The visit was arranged in conjunction with Beyond Borders, Bar Council of England and Wales assisted by the FCO and the Omani Judiciary. Fifteen Omani judges from across the country from different levels and types of court, attended the training, although most delegates were from the criminal courts.

We were delighted to have the President of the Court of Appeal in Sohar and a General Assembly President in attendance, along with senior members of the judiciary.

Delegates discussed the differences and the similarities between the UK and the Omani systems, in terms of overall legal systems, with a focus on approaches to combating corruption and aspects of judge-craft.
